Women activists stage protest against inflation

New Delhi, Apr 10 : Activists of the United Women's Front on Thursday staged a protest against the government's failure to control soaring inflation.

Mounting pressure on the government to take adequate measures to check inflation, the activists said that it was the government's responsibility to ensure food security.

"Every government has the responsibility to ensure food security for the masses and should rise up to the responsibility," said Taruna Kanuga, President, United Women Front.

Raising slogans against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress party president Sonia Gandhi, the women demanded immediate measures to ease the burden of the common man.
