Tibetan freedom marchers reach New Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 10, 2008: More than hundred Tibetan exiles living in India's northern Dharamsala who had set out on a freedom march, reach Delhi on April 10.

They are also protesting against the killings that rocked the Tibetan capital Lhasa last month. The exiles are scheduled to be addressed by the Tibetan in-exile Prime Minister, Samdhong Rinpoche later in the day.

Washington, Apr 4: The US House of Representatives will discuss next week a resolution, calling on the Chinese government to end its crackdown in Tibet and to enter into a substantive dialogue with the Dalai Lama. New Delhi, Apr 3: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has assured his Chinese counterpart that it would not tolerate any political anti-China activities by Tibetans on Indian Territory. According to the official Xinhua news agency, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi spoke to Mukherjee over phone and briefed him on the Tibet issue. They also exchanged views on bilateral relations. According to Xinhua, Mukherjee said the Tibet Autonomous Region is part of China's territory and India will never tolerate any political anti-China.....

Congress supports Pranab on Tibet issue

New Delhi, Apr 2: The Congress today defended External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee who had reportedly urged Tibetan Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama not to engage in any political activity in India where he has been given asylum.
