SP to field candidates in over 200 seats in K'taka

Bangalore, Apr 10: Samajawadi Party(SP) Karnataka unit will field its candidates in over 200 assembly seats for the ensuing assembly elections to Karnataka, Party State President S Bangarappa said here today.

Speaking to UNI, he said SP would release its manifesto in a day or two, focusing on free power supply to farmers in the State. Recalling that the concept of 'supplying free power to farmers' was introduced by him in the past, which was, however, withdrawn later by the successive Governments, Mr Bangarappa dubbed poll promises of Congress, including free colour TV sets to poor, as bogus. People are not ready to believe Congress, he added.

He said the SP may strike a pre-poll alliance with Left parties in Karnataka and talks were in final stages, he added.
