Musharraf embarks on six-day visit to China



Islamabad, Apr 10 : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf left for China on a six-day visit on Thursday.

Musharraf would begin his visit from Sanya where he would meet with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao.

According to sources, issues pertaining to regional, international and bilateral would be discussed between the two countries. Key bilateral pacts are likely to inked to further strengthen bilateral relations.

Musharraf would also address the Bao Forum for Asia and would hold vital parleys with important world leaders, including Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Masimov.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar and Chairman Higher Education Attaur Rahman are accompanying Musharraf.

Prime Minister Makhdoom Yousaf Raza Gilani saw Musharraf off at the airport.

Before his departure, Musharraf urged lawyers to refrain from creating anarchic situation in the country.

The manhandling of former Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim and former federal law minister Dr. Sher Afgan Niazi could have triggered the violence in Karachi, The News quoted him, as saying.
