ISO Certification for Directorate of Art and Culture, Goa

Panaji, Apr 10 (UNI) The Directorate of Arts and Culture, Government of Goa has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:2000 Certificate by the reputed SGS Group for preservation, promotion and development of art and culture in the state.

Speaking to mediapersons, Chief Minister Digamber Kamat, who is also the Minister of Arts and Culture, said this is the first Government Department in Goa and the first art and culture department in India to be conferred with the certification.

Mr Kamat said the Directorate of Arts and Culture has envisioned in its quality policy, its commitment to preserve, develop and sustain art and culture in the state by continually improving on the resources both in the department as well as to the end users by implementing good work practices.

The Chief Minister said the ISO Certification will be enable the Department of Arts and Culture to focus on the involvement of people, leadership qualities within the staff, continuos training to be imparted to the staff, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement by way of feedback from the public and factual approach to decision making.

With the certification, the department will not sit on its laurels, but strive to deliver the best to the general public, the Chief Minister added.

Now, British Council disc containing data on 2000 members is lost
