New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) A city court today stayed the trial of one of the accused in the Delhi bomb blasts case that rocked the capital three years ago as his medical report found him to be deranged.
A report on Gulam Ahmad Khan was submitted in a sessions court by the Shahadra mental hospital.
On the recommendation of AIIMS, Khan was sent to the Shahadra Mental Hospital.
The Medical Superintendent submitted its report before Additional Sessions Judge Babu Lal that the mental condition of Khan was not stable and he was not fit to take part in court proceedings. On this, the court ordered that the trial against Khan be stayed and the trial of other accused continued.
On October 29, 2005, three bomb blasts occurred in Delhi, killing 55 people and injuring several others.
The explosions took place two days before Diwali.
The bombs were triggered in Sarojini Nagar and Paharganj markets and in a bus in the Govindpuri area of the city.
The court adjourned the matter till April 25.
