BJYM held demonstration before final Test

Kanpur, Apr 10: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) held a demonstration today before the third and final Test starting here tomorrow on the issue of 'Cricket Amir, Kisan Garib'.

The demonstraters, accusing the UPA government at the centre, said when the entire country was reeling under price rise and farmers' problems, the cricket match had added salt to the injury. They also raised slogans like 'Sharad Pawar sharam karo- Kishan par raham karo'. Regional in-charge of the Morcha, Srikrishna Dikshit blamed Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar, who is also the president of the BCCI, for the present crisis facing poor people in the country.

''Our agriculture minister Mr Pawar has no time for his ministry as he is more busy in cricket,'' Dikshit charged.

The Morcha leaders said when people are not getting meals even twice a day due to rise in prices of essential commodities, then why should people be interested in cricket as it was only helping to fill the pockets of rich people.

They claimed that if nothing was done immediately to arrest the price hike, a civil war like situation would emerge in the country.
