50 houses gutted in major fire

Sultanpur, Apr 10 (UNI) As many as 50 houses were reduced to rubble in a fire in Kudvar area here today.

According to police, fire broke in the house of one Lal Bahadur Shastri of Chitipur due to short circuit.

Later, it caught the neighbouring houses, gutting property worth rupees several lakhs, sources added.

The ablaze was put off after the fire fighters were pressed into service.
