Baramulla, Apr 10: One girl was killed and two others were injured when a house collapsed in this north Kashmir district early today.
Official sources said a two storey house of one Mohammad Abdullah Marazi at Bagh-e-Islamil here collapsed at 0230 hrs when the house owner and his family members were in asleep.
Three girls--Afshana, Guddi and Heenu-- who were in the ground floor, were buried under the debris of the house.
Later, other residents of the area rescued the family members, including the girls who were critically wounded. One of the girls Afshana died before she could be shifted to a hospital.
The two injured girls were admitted to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura.
This was the second shocking incident in the Kashmir valley during the past 24 hours. In another incident, three brothers were charred after their house at Vailoo in south Kashmir was gutted in a devastating fire yesterday.
