Agra, Apr 9: At least four people were killed and three seriously injured after a speeding truck contemporaneously dashed against a three-wheeler and motorbike in New Agra area here today.
The driver of the truck, en route from Rajasthan to Kanpur, lost control over the wheels on Agra-Kanpur national highway, killing four people on the spot, DM Mukesh Mishra said.
Of the deceased, three were travelling in the three-wheeler and another on motorbike.
The injured were admitted to hospital in a life threatening condition.
One of the deceased had been identified as Sindoora Devi, while efforts were underway to establish the identity of others.
Irked over the incident, a mob set the truck on fire and staged a 'dharna' on Agra-Kanpur national highway, disrupting traffic for over 3 hrs.
The situation was brought under control after senior officials reached the spot.
