US-based NetCracker in talks with Indian telecom majors

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) US-based NetCracker, a global software solution company supporting communications service providers, is in talks with major telecom operators in India for its debut venture.

The company is targetting a business of Rs 400 crore (USD 100 mn) in the next five years, keeping in view that the Indian telecom sector with increasing demand of high-end value added services has had a potential of several fold growth in the comming years, Company Vice President Sanjay Mewada told UNI here today.

He said the company is in talks with all the frontline telecom operators--Reliance Communications, Airtel, Tata Indicom and others for providing its service solutions.

''Initially, we will start-up with 3-5 year engagement with them and later we will transform the services in accordance with the demand,'' Mr Mewada said.

The company has an eighty per cent market share globally in providing software solution for value-added services, including modular solution site, to telecom majors like France Telecom Group, Sprint, Swisscom, Tellstra, UPC Broadband, among others, he said.

''The company is also planning to invest Rs 40 crore initially and will setup its software development centers,'' Mewada said.

NetCrackers has parternership with information technology majors like IBM, HP and Tech Mahindra in India, which helps the company in delivering software, he added.
