New Delhi, Apr 7: The Supreme Court will hear a petition of the Uttar Pradesh government tomorrow, challenging the Allahabad High Court order restraining it from going ahead with several projects in Lucknow, including the Kanshi Ram Shodh Sansthan and Ramabai Ambedkar Rally Sthal.
A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice R V Raveendran fixed the date of hearing for tomorrow when the matter was mentioned for urgent hearing by senior counsel Harish Salve.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has changed the use of large chunk of land in the state capital through a notification in violation of the earlier High Court order.
The Mayawati government has started several projects in Lucknow, including renovation of the Ambedkar park at the cost of about Rs 1,000 crore.
A petition was filed in the High Court last week and it passed the stay order against the change of land use by LDA.
