One arrested with Rs 23 lakh fake notes

Amritsar, Apr 7 (UNI) The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested one person and siezed counterfeiting Indian currency worth Rs 23 lakh from his possession here today.

According to DRI officials, Taseem Akbar, a resident of Shamli in Sharanpur, who was going in a jeep, was intercepted near new Amritsar on NH-1. On his search fake notes of Rs 500 denomination were recovered from a hidden cavity of his jeep.

During the interrogaion it was found that he had already made five trips to the city and had supplied fake notes worth Rs 45 lakh to other states.

Aboriginal tools dated at 35,000 years discovered in Australia

Melbourne, Apr 7 (UNI) Archaeologists have unearthed 35,000-year-old cutting tools used by Aborigines in Australia. The tools found in Pilbara mine site in Western Australia are among the oldest so far discovered in the country. Archaeologists believe the dig could yield material up to 40,000 years old, comparable with the internationally famous Lake Mungo Man discovery in New South Wales. Robbers break open Hundi in temple
