Amritsar, Apr 7 (UNI) Notorious heroin smuggler, Satnam Singh Satta, today escaped from the district judicial courts complex here, police sources said.
Satta, an undertrail in a smuggling case escaped from a special lock-up inside the courts complex. He had been brought from the Central Jail here in connection with a heroin and fake currency smuggling case registered here last year.
He was to be produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate Sunita Rani. An inquiry has been ordered into his escape.
