Miscreants loot Rs 40 lakh from businessman

Cuttack, Apr 07 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants today looted Rs 40 lakh from a businessman from the busy Bajrakabati Road in the city.

Police said businessman Kamlesh Jain, who owned Jain Transport in Haripur on the outskirts of the city, had come to the Bajrakabati branch HDFC bank to withdraw the money.

After collecting the money in a bag from the Bank, Mr Jain was about to leave, when some people approached him, saying that his money was lying on the road.

The businessman then stopped his vehicle and looked back at the road. The miscreants grabbed the opportunity and snatched the bag from his vehicle.

He immediately alerted the local people and passerbys but failed to locate the money bag. The police, on being informed about the incident, rushed to the spot and sealed all exits points to nab the miscreants.

However, no one has yet been arrested in this connection.

DHD-J ultra killed, HNLC arrested by BSF in Mizoram

Shillong, Apr 07 (UNI) Border Security Force(BSF) has gunned down a Dima Halam Daogah(Jewel)[DHD(J)] militant in Assam and arrested a Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) ultra in Mizoram. In a statement issued here today, the BSF said that an unidentified DHD (J) militant was killed in an encounter with BSF troops at Thajury area in North Cachar Hills District of Assam.
