Live grenade recovered in Jammu

Jammu, Apr 7 (UNI) A live grenade was recovered from near Gharota area on the city outskirts last evening, official sources here today said.

''The grenade was noticed by some passersby and they informed the police,'' sources said adding that police party along with bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and diffused the grenade.

''The grenade was lying on the roadside near Gharota area,'' Superintendent of Police (SP) rural Shakti Pathak told UNI.

He said this was for the time that a grenade was recovered from the area.

''Search was on as the case was being investigated. No arrest has been yet,'' Mr Pathak said.

New Delhi, Feb 27: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the defeat of the Congress in the assembly polls in Punjab and Uttarakhand would have no bearing on the Centre as it was not a ''referendum'' against the UPA.''I am not saying there is no fallout.
