Srinagar, Apr 7 (UNI) The session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly probably the last before the general elections in the state, will be held next month in the new legislature complex.

Work on the near complete legislature complex was going apace on the instructions of the Chief Minister, an official spokesman said.

He said the next session of the State legislature is scheduled to be held in the new building sometime in May.

The project, which remained abandoned for about two decades, would be completed at a cost of Rs 22 crore.

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today visited the Rs 28 crore multi-storey museum complex which is also coming up at a fast pace on the banks of the Jhelum River at Lal Mandi behind the present SPS Museum building.

The building would house the treasure-trove of the State in a scientific manner, the absence of which had been long felt by the lovers of the precious collection in the museum.

The old building of the museum had also suffered damages due to the earthquake of October 2005.

The Chief Minister also inspected work on the beautification of Jhelum banks in the city. Under the project, both banks of the river in the capital city are being beautified in a bid to restore old glory of Kashmir's main river in Srinagar.
