Injustice to 3rd, 4th class Govt employees in 6th Pay Commission

Kolhapur, Apr 7 (UNI) Union Government Employees Organisation general secretary R P Singh today rued over the poor recommandations for the third and fourth class employees in the recently submitted Sixth Pay Commission report to the Central government.

Addressing a news conference here, Mr Singh said the organisation's demand was for minimum Rs 10,000, however, the Commission in its report recommanded only Rs 5,740. This was nothing but injustice to these emplolyees.

The Commission has in its report differentiated the wages of employees -- from fourth class to secretary level. This will create division among the employees, thereby finishing the organisations like theirs. It is dangerous for the employees, he pointed out.

Mr Singh said various points in the report were unclear and his organisation has decided to organise a meeting in New Delhi on April 27 to request the Union government to reconsider their demands before implementing the recommandations of the Pay Commission.

Maharashtra Government Employees, Teachers Sanghatana Cordination Samiti convenor Anil Lavekar was accompanying Mr Singh.

The two later addressed employees rally to create awareness about the report and what further steps, if necessary, to be taken in support of their demand.
