High command has full faith in me, Deshmukh

Mumbai, Apr 7: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today Rubished reports about change of guard in the state and asserted that he will continue as Chief Minister of Maharashtra as the Congress high command had reposed full faith in him.

Scotching rumours about stepping down, Mr Deshmukh said the party had reiterated faith in his capability to lead the state. ''The senior party leaders in Delhi are fully supporting me and all reports of mine stepping down are false'', he told reporters. Earlier, Mr Deshmukh inaugurated suburban train services between Panvel in Navi Mumbai, and Andheri in the western suburbs of the Metropolis. He said the expansion of the state cabinet will take place after the ongoing session of the state legislature and the posts in various boards will also be filled up.

Union Minister of State, Narayan Rathwa, who was present at the inaugural ceremony, said the local training facilities will be improved in the city and Panvel will soon be given the status of a terminus.
