Editors Guild welcomes BCCI's initiative on IPL issue



New Delhi, Apr 7 : The Editors Guild of India on Monday welcomed the initiative taken by Lalit Modi, Commissioner, Indian Premier League (IPL) on behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL to discuss the controversial, and unacceptable terms and conditions for media accreditation with media representatives.

The Guild, along with other journalist bodies, including the Sports Journalists Federation of India, has put across its views on the controversial and unacceptable clauses in the terms and conditions.

Modi has agreed to modify the terms and conditions, and has promised to delete some provisions.

The Guild would give its detailed reaction to BCCI and IPL after studying the revised terms and conditions, and consulting the fraternal bodies.
