Court seeks contempt proceedings against foul-mouthed SHO

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) A Metropolitan Magistrate today recommended to the Delhi High Court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against a Delhi Police Station House Officer (SHO) who had used foul language and challenged the court to take action against him.

Inspector Rajendra Pathania, who is posted as SHO of the Karol Bagh police station, had appeared before Metropolitan Magistrate Ajay Pandey in connection with the proposed inquiry under section 350 CrPC against head constable of his police station.

Inspector Pathania had filed a report in this regard before the court, but the court was not satisfied with the efforts made by the SHO in conducting the case and remarked that the report has been prepared in a very clandestine and casual manner.

At this, the SHO got agitated at the court and uttered unparliamentary language before the court.

He challenged the court saying he has filed his report and has nothing extra to do and the court can take whatever action it intended to take.

The court took this act of the SHO as a contempt of court and the members of the Bar present in the court also requested to initiate contempt action against the SHO.

When the magistrate was dictating the order, the SHO again challenged the court.

On this action of the SHO, the Metropolitan Magistarate recommended to the Delhi High Court for initiating the appropriate contempt proceedings agaionst the SHO.

The court also asked the Commissioner of Police to send some responsible officer to the court so that the proceedings of the court is taken to its logical conclusion.

TN gets 54 projects of housing, civic amenities for urban poor

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Tamil Nadu has got 54 projects under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) and the Basic Services to the Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme. NABARD to provide loan for infrastructural constructions in J

Jammu, Apr 7 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will provide a loan of Rs 100 crore for the construction of 4,000 additional classrooms in the newly upgraded secondary and higher secondary schools throughout Jammu and Kashmir. The construction of the additional classrooms would provide for the accommodation deficiency of about 1,000 newly upgraded secondary and higher secondary schools in the state.
