3 Lankans in TN Refugee Camp

Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, Apr 7 (UNI) Three Sri Lankan nationals, including two women, took refuge in the special camp for Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees at Mandapam, here today.

Official sources told UNI Krishnaveni alias Mishana (24), Pappathi (38) and Padmaraj (17) from Vavuniya and Jaffna in the island nation arrived in Tamil Nadu recently with valid documents.

They arrived here this evening and registered their names with the camp authorities.

There had been heavy influx of Sri Lankan Tamil refugees to the state in the past couple of months owing to fierce fighting between the country's armed forces and the LTTE.

Global tender to study feasibility of bullet trains in India

Bhubaneswar, Apr 7 (UNI) The Indian Railways will float global tender in August to undertake study on the feasibility of running high speed passenger bullet trains on five selected routes, Railway Board Chairman K C Jena said here today.
