Madhya Pradesh: 3 SIMI activists arrested

Rajgarh, MP, Apr 6: Three active members of banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were arrested at the district's Narsighgarh tahsil headquarters last night. Superintendent of Police B K Arya said here today that three places of town were raided and arrest was made on the basis of information by two prominent SIMI leaders, who were arrested from Dhar and Indore.

Objectionable documents were seized from their houses. Faizal, Irfan and Shakir were arrested under Criminal Procedure Code Section 3, 10 and 13 and Indian Penal Code Section 153. The trio had collusion with SIMI even after its ban in 2001. Faizal was also arrested during riots here in 2006.

Bihar 2006: Crimes persists, devp yet to take off

Patna, Dec 29: Crime graph in Bihar showed no sign of moving downward in 2006, the first full calendar year of NDA rule in the state, where the promised change in development sector was yet to take off.
