Rahul has declined my offer to become minister:Sonia

New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today said her son and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has declined her offer to become a Union Minister.

''I would have liked him in the Union Cabinet but he strongly feels that since he has been given a major responsibility in the party, especially that of strengthening the Youth Congress, he should not join the government,'' she told reporters after the swearing in of seven new Ministers of State at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

New Delhi, Dec 21: In a decision that would establish a uniform procedure for sending, receiving and executing requests for the taking of evidence to and from the other countries, the Union Cabinet today approved accession to the Hague Convention of March 18, 1970. The Convention relates to the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters and Designation of Central Authorities under the Convention. Cabinet 'broadly' approves 74 pc FDI in telecom

New Delhi, Dec 21: The Union Cabinet has 'broadly approved' the proposal for enhancment of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) limit to up to 74 per cent in the telecom sector but final and revised guidelines are in the process of being redrafted and would get the final nod in the first week of January, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said today. Speaking after a Cabinet meeting here, Mr Chidambaram said guidelines, especially the norms on.....
