Manmohan Singh Government inducts 7 new ministers(Cabinet Reshuffle-Update)



New Delhi, Apr 6 : President Pratibha Patil on Sunday administered the oath of office and secrecy to the seven Union Ministers.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasad, Santosh Bagrodia, RJD's Raghunath Jha, Congress' Puducherry chief V Narayanaswamy, former Chief Election Commissioner M S Gill and Ramesh Oraon were inducted into the Union Cabinet.

While six were inducted as Ministers of State, Gill was sworn in as Minister of State, Independent charge.

Earlier in the day, President Patil accepted resignation letters of Suresh Pachouri, Manikrao Gavit, T. Subbarami Reddy, Akhilesh Das, Dasari Narayan Rao and M.V. Rajasekhara.

Suresh Pachouri was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.

Gavit was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Reddy was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Mines, Akhilesh Das was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Steel, while Narayan Rao was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Coal. Rajasekharan was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Planning.
