Employees urges PM to ignore Pay Commission recommendations

Patna,Apr06(UNI)-The non gazetted association of Bihar and Jharkhand government today urged the Prime Minister not to accept the recommendations of the sixth pay commission as it did not take the interest of employees into consideration.

In a release issued here, secretary general of the association Gopal Prasad Tripathi said that a letter was sent to Prime Minister urging him to ignore the recommendations of the pay commission.

''The commission has recommended Rs 80,000 to 90,000 as salaries of the IAS officers while a lower level clerks would get a meager sum of Rs 5000 as their salaries'', he pointed out and said it was gross injustice to the government employees.

''In a democratic country, the pay scale of highest level officers should not be more than 10 times of that of salaries of the lowest level employees'', he said lamenting the difference to the tune of 18 times was kept in the recommendations of the pay commission.

Mr Tripathi warned that if the recommendations of the commission were not kept in abeyance, the association would be forced to launch the agitation.
