Guntur, Apr 6: Two persons drowned while another person escaped after they were caught in huge tidal waves off Suryakiran beach at Bapatla in this district today.

Police said while Jhony Basha (15) and Nagaraju (17) drowned, Sarat (25) managed to escape.

The trio were taking bath when the mishap occurred.

While Basha's body was retrieved, Nagaraju breathed his last enroute to a hospital, police added.

Vijayawada, Oct 18: Aditya Birla Retail Limited will open nine supermarkets in the Vijayawada region tomorrow, its Chief Executive Officer Andew Denby has said. Hyderabad, Jan 10: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today asked the Social Welfare and Tribal Welfare departments to start construction work of compound walls and bathrooms in all the schools and hostels in the State. CII suggests creation of Skill Development fund in AP

Hyderabad, Dec 24: Andhra Pradesh Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Chairman Pradeep Dhobale today suggested creation of a skill development fund of Rs 100 crore to spearhead skill development initiatives in the state. After submitting the CII Pre-Budget memorandum for the year 2008-09 to state Finance Minister K Rosaiah, he said creating skills at all levels would help to sustain the growth momentum.
