SP open for alliance with like-minded parties: Bangarappa

Bangalore, Apr 5 (UNI) Karnataka unit of Samajwadi Party (SP) President and former Chief Minister S Bangarappa today said that his party was open for alliance with like-minded parties barring the Congress, BJP and BSP in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, he said ''we are ready to strike alliance with like-minded parties including JD(S) but will not force any one in this regard''. The party would field candidates in all the 224 Assembly segments in the upcoming elections, he added.

Replying to a question, he said there was no dearth for demand for tickets and already 1,000 applications had been received from aspirants.

Mumbai, July 18: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was conferred an honorary doctorate by the Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. The doctorate was conferred upon the actress, who became a household name in Britain after winning the controversial 'Big Brother' reality show, at a student graduation ceremony, informed her spokesperson Dale Bagwagar.
