Shimla, Apr 5 (UNI) A local court today granted bail to former horticulture and civil supplies minister Singhi Ram and former HP Board of School Education (HPBSE) chairman B R Rahi in the fake certificate racket till April 10.
The Special Court (Forest) granted bail to them after the District Sessions Judge R L Raghu transferred the case to it following the registration of a case against them under the Section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The court said since a two day notice was not given to the accused when the case was filed against them, the court had granted them bail till April 10.
The two were sent to a four - day police remand on Monday and their were rejected following bail applications the State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau (SV and ACB) seeking their remand for custodial interrogation.
A case under Sections 420, 468, 471 and 120 of the IPC has been registered against Mr Ram and Mr Rahi for issuing a fake certificate to the minister's daughter for ensuring her admission in New Delhi's Lady Shriram College after she failed in her Class 12th examination.
