PM pays tribute to late Jagjivan Ram on 101st birth annv

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today led the nation in paying tributes to the late Babu Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his 101st birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister paid homage to the former deputy prime minister by laying floral tributes at the Samta Sthal, samadhi of the late leader.

Organised by the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation, several noted dignitaries from several walks of life attended the homage ceremony.

Later, an all religion prayer meeting was held by the foundation at the Babu Jagjivan Ram Smriti Sansthan. Several Members of Parliament and Ministers of the Union Cabinet were present in the prayer.

Rice questions why Saudi might need nuke energy

Washington, Dec 16: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today questioned why oil-rich Saudi Arabia might want nuclear power and said she wanted to know more about plans by Gulf states to study nuclear energy.
