No EOU extension sought for Jamnagar refinery: RIL

New Delhi, Apr 5 (UNI) Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Industries Ltd today said it has not sought any extension of export-oriented unit (EOU) status for its Jamnagar refinery.

''EOU Jamnagar refinery continues to be an EOU under existing foreign trade policy. The company has not sought any extension or change of the same,'' RIL said in a statement.

Earlier, media reports said that the company has sought extension of the EOU status for Jamnagar refinery.

With a capacity of 33 million tonne (mt), Jamnagar refinery has been constantly increasing export of petroleum products. While it stood at 10.84 million tonnes, valued at 5.5 billion dollars in 2005-06, it was expected to rise to 17.84 mt valued at 10.3 billion dollars.
