Naxalites shot dead landlord in Orissa

Malkangiri, Apr 5 (UNI) Armed Naxalites shot dead a landlord in Kirtanpali village, about 70 kms from here, early today.

Police said about 10 armed Naxalites arrived at the village and asked Sayam Lacha to come out of his house. As soon as Lacha came out, they shot him at close range, killing him on the spot and fled from the scene.

Soon after the incident, police and the Special Operation Group launched a combing operation in the area to nab them.

Sources said the naxalites suspected Lacha to be a police informer and so decided to eliminate him.

Pondy: Certificate course on yoga

Puducherry, Oct 13: For the first time in the country, the Community College under the Pondicherry Central University here has started a certificate course on 'yoga' for senior citizens. Speaking, after inaugurating the course, Pondicherry University Former Vice-Chancellor Gnanam today said senior citizens could keep themselves fit sans diseases if they learn and practice yoga. This would also provide job opportunities for the youth as several yoga teachers were required in schools and colleges. The three-months certificate course was introduced in addition.....

Dubai, Jan 25: Indian yoga guru Baba Ramdev claimed that he had cured over 1,000 cancer patients through the practice of yoga and breathing techniques and also had proof to back his claims.
