Gem, Jewellery India Intl Exhibition from Feb 2008

Chennai, Apr 5: High fashion jewellery in Silver and Platinum would have a large presence in the Gem and Jewellery India International Exhibition GJIIE-2008, to be held here from February eight to ten next year. More than 300 companies from 15 countries, including Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Burma, Turkey and Italy, would participate in the expo, which was expected to attract 12,000 visitors from retail trade.

The expo, to be organised by the Madras Jewellers and Diamond Merchants Association (MJDMA), would provide an ideal platform for the Indian wholesalers, manufacturers to enter global market, thereby giving the latest trendy global designed jewellery to Indian customers.

Talking to reporters here after signing an agreement with the CMP, Asia, which organises trade fairs in Asia, MJDMA President Pravin M Mehta said the MoU was aimed at promoting the Indian jewellery industry in general and help in getting GJIIE series of events on the world jewellery map using CMP's strong presence in the global jewellery market.

Tata bags Best Speaciality Coffee Award at IICF
