Fire erupts in house near Kona expressway

Howrah, Apr 5 (UNI) Fire broke out in a house near the Hanisen crossing on the Kona Expressway here this morning.

Fire brigade sources said two fire tenders were rushed to douse the blaze which was suspected to have been triggerred from firecrackers stored in the house.

There were no reports of any casualty, the sources said.

Pisciculture opening up new employment venues

Itanagar, Mar 2: A hatchery unit has been set up at Iduli Fish Seed Farm in Lower Dibang Valley district, with support from Uttarakhand-based Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) on Cold Water Fisheries, to boost pisciculture at high altitudes and create new venues for employment in Arunachal Pradesh.The farm which is the first of its kind in the state is located 21 km away from here in Roing, the district headquarters. Aimed at artificial breeding of Chocolate Mahseer.....

ARC to report on conflict management in NE

Agartala, Jul 27: The second Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC), constituted by UPA government, has asserted to submit a separate charter of recommendations on conflict management and insurgency in Northeast. Talking to mediapersons here yesterday, ARC chairman Veerappa Moily said besides, transparency and pro-people administration, the NE states needed a separate administrative strategy to combat insurgency. ''ARC has realised the need to decentralise power to autonomous bodies for the region's betterment,'' Mr Moily, also.....
