Deputy General Manager of JKPCC in vigilance net in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 5 (UNI) A Deputy General Manager of Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) was arrested after he was caught red handed demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 here.

A spokesman of the State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) said a complaint was received from one Zahoor Ahmad Banday alleging that a deputy General Manager of JKPCC Mohammad Abass Lone was demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 for releasing his pending bills.

He said a case was registered a trap was laid and the accused was arrested at Iqbal Park here demanding and accepting bribe from Mr Banday.

The tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused in presence of independent witnesses.

Rice questions why Saudi might need nuke energy

Washington, Dec 16: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today questioned why oil-rich Saudi Arabia might want nuclear power and said she wanted to know more about plans by Gulf states to study nuclear energy.
