Tamil Nadu: College student drowns

Kancheepuram, Apr 5: A college student drowned while taking bath with his friends at a pond near Guduvanchery in this district, last evening. Police said S Sivanesh (18), studying first year MSc (IT) integrated course in an engineering college at Kattankulathur, met with a watery grave as he did not know swimming.

Guduvanchery police fished out the body and sent it to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Kancheepuram (Tamil Nadu), Dec 15: Thirteen people, including 11 from a family, were killed on the spot and two seriously injured in a ghastly accidint when the Qualis car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry near Kovalam checkpost on the East Coast Road (ECR) today. Police said the mishap occurred when thirteen members of a family were proceeding to Rameswaram from Chennai airport after seeing off their relatives......

West Bengal: Jnaneshwari Exp hits buffer, 5 injured

Kolkata, May 14: At least five persons were injured when 2101 Down Jnaneswari Express hit the buffer of a platform, while entering Howrah station today. Railway officials said the train hit the buffer of platform number 20 at about 0530 hours adding that the passengers were in the train.
