Chiranjeevi elusive on party launch

Hyderabad, Apr 5 (UNI) Amid speculation in the media and political circles that Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi may announce his entry into politics on 'Ugadi,' the Telugu New year, on April seven, the megastar remained elusive on his foray into politics.

His brother-in-law and confidant Allu Aravind parried all questions in this regard at a press conference, called today to highlight the megastar's blood bank initiative.

Mr Aravind said ''wait''for an announcement from the megastar on his entry into politics.

Referring to the blood bank initative, he said it had received recognition from the National Aids Control Society (NACO). Over 11.11 lakh units of blood were donated by Chiranjeevi fans till March 31, he added.

3 Pakistani soldiers, 5 Baloch nationalists killed

Peshawar, Apr 5 : At least three Pakistani soldiers and five Baloch nationalists were killed on Saturday in a gunfight in Balochistan province. The shootout took place near Dalbandin town as the security forces raided a house after getting a tip-off. Tibetans go on hunger strike in Kullu

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 5: Tibetans-in-exile living in Kullu have begun an indefinite hunger strike on Saturday to protest against alleged Chinese suppression in Tibet. The Tibetan protest has spread across the Himachal Pradesh from Dharamshala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile. "We have started this hunger strike from today and the strike will continue till atrocities of the Chinese Government is stopped on the Tibetans," said Thokme, a Tibetan Youth Congress representative.
