Puducherry,Apr 4: A trader was robbed of Rs 2.5 lakh here last night. According to police, three youths on two motorcycles intercepted Gurusamy (55) of Tagore Nagar running a wholesale provision store in the Grand Bazaar while he was returning home in the night.

Gurusamy was attacked with a stone and as he fell down from the bike,the gang snatched the money being the day's collection at his shop and fled the scene with his motorcycle.

Bangalore, Jan 22: Gold Ornaments worth Rs 2.40 lakh was robbed from Rajesh Exports, a leading Gold Manufacturing and Export Company at Whitefield, in the outskirts of the City in the wee hours. Puducherry, Jan 12: Police arrested a five-member gang on the charge of robbing a merchant and his friend of valuables and motorcycle at Villainur near here. According to police, Shaul Hameed, was returning to his native village Nallathur, along with Kandan, after closing his shop in Puducherry town last night, when the gang followed in a car and hit them.
