Addressing a public meeting at Arts College here, he said the delta modernisation works would be taken up at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore.
Dr Reddy said the Pulichintala project would be completed by next year he said and added the Nagarjunasagar modernisation works for providing irrigation water to tail end areas would start soon.
He charged the previous BJP-led NDA government at the centre and the Telugu Desam government in the state for not taking up developmental works and also showing a 'lackadaisical' attitude on the farmers problems which led to suicides of the peasants in the state.
After the Congress-led UPA government came to power at the Centre, the interest on crops loans was reduced from 14 per cent to 7 per cent, he said adding the Congress Government in the state had decided to reduce the interest rate further to 3 per cent from the next khariff season.
He said Rs 14 crore had been allocated for developmental works, including drinking water and Rs 48.9 crore for underground drainage system in Bapatla town.
Dr Reddy said the state government would help the farmers, who suffered crop loss due to recent unseasonal rains in several districts.
