Party leader R K Dhawan alleged that the Director of Intelligence Bureau, who was directly under Mr Advani, the then Home Minister, was accompanying Mr Jaswant Singh to Kandhar.
''Mr Advani has written a 'shameful' lie in his recently published book and by doing so, he is misleading the people,'' he said at a rally organised by the Kangra District Congress Committee to express gratitude to UPA Chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for a people-centric budget and waiving off farmers' loan.
Mr Dhawan asked the party cadre to unite themselves to fight the anti-people and unjust policies of the BJP government in the state.
''The Congress will reign again before the term of the present government ends,'' he said and suggested to former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, without naming him, that he should forget the party's recent debacle in the polls and work unitedly in defeating the anti-people designs of the BJP.
Mr Virbhadra Singh said the Congress leadership should not live in a ''fools paradise'' that it would come to power after five years as had been a precedence and strongly recommended to work hard for strengthening the party to fight the BJP with full force.
