Bihar Police recover bombs from Naxalite hideout

Gaya, Mar 29: The Bihar police recovered a huge cache of explosives, ammunition, Naxalite literature and other materials from an underground bunker at Takpahari village here early today.

Gaya Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar told UNI that acting on a tip off, a special team under his leadership, surrounded the village and recovered about 15 kg of high quality explosives, 12 detonators, four wireless sets,two chargers, several metres of live wire and a few rounds of cartridges besides Naxalite literature and some life saving drugs from two trunks, from an underground bunker near a bush.

Though none was arrested, the police seized the materials and interrogated several villagers.

Police suspect that the explosives were kept for a major operation in the district within the next few days, the SP added.

Bihar: Two electrocuted in Dalit Basti

Sheohar, May 23: Two people, including a woman, were electrocuted at Dalit Basti early this morning when a live electric wire fell on a hut. District Police Superintendent Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the couple, fast asleep in their hut, came in contact with live wire, which accidentally got detached from the pole due to poor maintenance of the power distribution system.
