Jammu Kashmir: Rs 1100 cr spent under PMGSY

Srinagar, Mar 17: To connect all rural areas with the main towns in the Jammu and Kashmir, an amount of Rs 1100 crore was being spent under PMGSY.

This information was given by minister for Roads and Buildings Jugal Kishire during inspection of 880 meter long flyover under construction on Srinagar airport road near Hyderpora bypass. He said all the rural areas, which are yet to be connected by road with their respective main towns, will come under this programme.

This, he said, will benefit a large number of population. He was told that Rs 63 crore have been earmarked for its flyover, of which Rs 20 crore have been utilised so far.

He was also told that the flyover is expected to be completed soon.

Institute to study seismic activity in NE: Govt

Aizwal, Mar 11:  The Ministry of Earth Sciences will set up a research institute to study seismic activities in Northeast and has already sent a proposal to Finance Ministry for necessary sanction.Official sources here today said following the proposal of NE states the ministry had initiated the move of setting up an exclusive centre to survey the seismic activities in the region.According to Bureau of Indian Standards apart from Jammu.....
