New Delhi, Feb 23: Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor has lavished praise on his Pakistani counterpart General Ashfaq Kayani, calling him a ''professional and reassuring soldier'' who can handle the troops quite well as he has gone through the mill.
''Gen Kayani is a professional soldier. He has gone through the mill and come up as a capable officer and I think he would be able to handle the Pakistani army professionally,'' he said in an interview here. Gen Kapoor said some of the measures taken by him (new Pakistani Army chief) have been praiseworthy. ''I think it's reassuring to have a person who is a professional soldier at the head of the Army,'' he said in the interview to CNN-IBN for its Devil's Advocate programme, to be telecast tomorrow night.
