Three-day meditec clinika fair begins on Mar 1

Chennai, Feb 21 (UNI) Meditec Clinika 2008, the largest medical equipment and technology trade fair in south Asia would be held here from March one to three.

Talking to newspersons, L S Sridhar, Cardiac Surgeon said the fair, first of its kind in the city, would bring together state-of-the-art medical equipment and technology from across the globe under one roof.

He said exhibitors from India, Pakistan, helth insurance, lab apparatus, surgical instruments and telemedicine. Key exhibitors would be Godrej Interior, Aas Medical, Sano Health care, IBP Germany, Novarad and Hosmac India.

The fair would also showcase high quality specialised medical equipment and disseminate information on the advances in medical technology and upcoming drugs, he said adding ''this will be a valuable resource for the industry and it would offer plenty of business and networking opportunities.'' Orissa: JITM students develop solar lantern

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20:  A low cost solar powered battery charged LED Lanterns have been developed by the students of Jagannath Institute of Technology and Management (JITM), Orissa, in collaboration with the Engineers Without Borders(EWB) member students from University of Illinois. This has been specially developed for the benefit of the off-grid villages.
