Symonds' subtle U-turn on his no Pak tour stance

Melbourne, Feb 21 : Andrew Symonds has said that there is a slight possibility of him going on Australia's tour of Pakistan.

The Australian allrounder had previously said that he intended to skip the tour because of safety reasons.

But Symonds has now hinted at a possible U-turn, saying that there was still time to change his mind if the situation in Pakistan changed.

"The door is ajar but you know where I stand on it," Symonds told reporters here.

Fox Sports quoted Symonds as saying that he had long held a stance that safety was the most important issue and was against going on the tour.

But he said that if Cricket Australia's security experts gave the all clear and administrators urged him to make the tour he would have to make a decision at the time.

"At the time that happens I'll have to make a decision that I have to standby," he said.

Meanwhile, fellow Australian team member Matthew Hayden said he was yet to make up his mind on the issue and would wait to see what various security experts said.
