Russian tourist among six killed in J

Jammu, Feb 21 (UNI) At least six people, including a Russian woman, died today when the vehicle in which they were travelling rolled down a 400-foot gorge at Champari near Chenani in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.

The vehicle, carrying nine passengers, was coming to Jammu from Srinagar when the accident ocurred while negotiating a sharp turn, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range Alok Puri told UNI.

He said five passengers died on the spot while the critically injured Russian woman succumbed to her injuries on way to hospital.

The four others were admitted to District Hospital Udhampur, he said, adding, the Russian woman has been identified as Galina, 24, while identities of other passengers was not known.

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 22 (UNI) The sixth convocation ceremony of the local Guru Ghasidas University, which has completed 25 years, will take place on February 23. New Delhi, Feb 22: The alleged mastermind in a kidney transplant racket, Dr. Amit Kumar, will appear before a Delhi court today.
