Ponting unhappy with his price in IPL auction

Melbourne, Feb 21 (UNI) The money in the Indian Premier League (IPL) players' auction stunned some of the foriegn players, but Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting was disappointed at his low price in the high-profile event.

Ponting was secured by bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan for his Kolkata team for 400,000 dollars.

''I thought I might have been able to attract a little bit more than that,'' Ponting told Australian Associated Press (AAP).

''The fact I haven't made a lot of runs over the last couple of weeks probably hasn't helped much. But realistically, we as Australian players probably won't be able to take part in the first couple of years of the event anyway,'' he said.

The Skipper, however, added, ''There would be no friction in the dressing room following the bidding war, rather we would have light-hearted banter among ourselves.'' UNI XC CS AB RK2047
