Only dialogue, election can solve Kashmir issue: Soz

Jammu, Feb 21 (UNI) The only ways to solve ''Kashmir issue'' are dialogue and elections, said the new Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Saiffudin Soz here this evening.

Mr Soz after taking over the charge as JKPCC president while interacting with the media fraternity at 'Meet the Press', said there are only two ways to solve the problems.

''Dialogue is the best medium to forward peace process and election is another way out to solve issues including ''Kashmir'' and people should participate in it,'' Mr Soz replied to question.

''Hurriyat Conference should participate or not in the forthcoming elections, is not my cup of tea. Whosoever wants to take part should come forward. People should vote positively in the elections, which makes things transparent,'' the JKPCC president said adding that coalition government here in Jammu and Kashmir has done tremendous work and it would continue smoothly till elections.

He said he has come to the state to ''strengthen'' Congress.

''Uniting party workers and leaders at one platform is a challenge for me and I have accepted it. I will talk to the party cadre and try to sort out shortcomings to strengthen the party,'' Mr Soz added.

Meanwhile, Mr Soz, who is also a Union Minister for Water Resources said, ''I still have no plans to bring out changes in the organization. We will sit together and discuss to prepare party policies prior to the forthcoming Assembly elections.'' UNI VBH BDP AS2009
