One dead, eight injured in clashes over water

Kolhapur, Feb 21 (UNI) One person was killed and eight others injured in clashes between two groups over an irrigation pipe-line water scheme at Arale village in Karvir Tehsil of the district today.

The two groups, one led by Bharat Bhausaheb Patil and the other by Shahaji Hindurao Patil had a dispute over the pipe-line water scheme for the past few years, police said.

However, trouble broke out today when Suresh Patil, supporter of Bharat Patil, fired rounds from his gun. killing Pandurang Ramchandra Desai (55).

The groups used lathis and swords injuring eight others, police added.

The injured were rushed to a civil hospital here. So far, no arrests have been made.

Warm weather continues in Delhi, mercury rises to 27.6 deg C

New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) Delhi's movement towards the Spring season today continued with the mercury rising to 27.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. Free travel for disabled players in Haryana buses

Chandigarh, Feb 21 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that disabled players would be provided of free travel in Haryana Roadways buses.
