JJ Institute's applied art exhibition concludes

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) The week-long ''JJ Institute of Applied Arts Commercial Art Exhibition'' that displays the work of over 400 students concluded here today.

''The exhibition was the culmination of year-long work done by students from the first to final year in various fields of commercial art that include copy writing, poster making to 3-D imagery and animation,'' lecturer and exhibition-in-charge Prof V D Salami said. ''All our year's work gets condensed in the exhibition. It is a chance to display our portfolio for ad agencies, animators and marketing companies to pick us for assignments and work,'' TYBFA Nisha Mehta, who plans to pursue a post graduation course in animation, said.

Following the institute's 73 year old tradition, outstanding projects were awarded gold medals and certificates by the college.

Advertising agencies and organisations like the Commercial Artists Guild also gave out prizes and certificates to the best works.

AAPSU calls statewide bandh on Feb 29

Itanagar, Feb 21 (UNI) The All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) has threatened to call another bandh on February 29 if the government fails to rescue the youths, allegedly kidnapped by banned NSCN(K) from Tirap recently.
